Hi all, thanx to everybody for the suggestions ... it will take a while to me to "mark the best answer" (as a matter of fact few of them are quite useful) but I'll that after my experiments.

Thnx,

nathan

I use FF because of the plugins, but IE8/Chrome + patched Windows 7 + not installing flash is generally considered the best way to go security wise.

The dev version of Chrome now ship with Flash integrated (i.e.:not as a plugin), so it'll upgrade it with the browser if necessary.

I think it's a nice security feature. The attack surface remain the same but at least you get the patches faster.

Opera

Ok I think It was and still OPERA, It's the best.
The fastest/the most user friendly browser. I've been using it for 8 years now and I quite happy with it. Fire-Fox is SUX on windows "I think threads are not designed perfectly".

I'm a big fan of Opera too.

As always, depends what you are using them for.

For those of us doing web develeopment the plugins such as WebDeveloper, Firebug (and addons), LiveHttpHeaders, Hackbar etc etc are invaluable.

I'm also a fan of OPERA..if you really want speed, disable all caching to disk and history..

other thing that has nothing to do with browsers is DNS cache on local machines - it can be fine tuned to get you name resolutions faster, and so improve your browsing experience..

I used Opera for many years (and still have it installed) but prefer K-Meleon.
