yes they do great job when they make this mod i am alwaus use him

I don't think that using a modded ollydbg version is a great idea. It can lead to some compatibility troubles.

I think the general point is a) bug fixes and b) hiding the debugger from certain protections.

std Olly + plugins (strongOd/phantom for hiding/patching olly bugs) would be just fine....
you never know what is inside 3rd party patched Olly (well, only if you сookув it by your self :)

Not at all. If you use proper plugins with adequate settings. I don't know even a single protector witch does not run under Olly.
