This is a difficult question. Since these sources are incomplete and contain different parts of OSes. I just indexed it with Sleuthhound Pro and now search them for my needs.

no, I believe it's one of the 'big' missing pieces.

3ch0, full ntfs source is in the nt4 package. If you're looking for information rather than the complete driver, it will do just as well.

The main thing I've waited for was MAPI samples (like Exchange client for NT4), but it is absent. There are some good driver sources. But almost nothing useful for end-user application development.

There are still some usefull things in there...

For example, source code to (or partial source code to): (either NT4, 2000 or both)
user32.dll
win32k.sys
gdi32.dll
kernel32.dll
ntoskrnl.exe
ntdll.dll

Plus source code to several MS utillities like link.exe
Plus, you get source code to a fair bit of upper-level stuff (IE bits and such)

Not to mention that you get the source code to the famous Solitare game :)

In addition to ME finding the source code usefull, apparently MicroSoft thinks so to...

Just received a e-mail from my ISP, quoting an E-Mail from Microsoft, that MS didn't have nice thoughts on my sharing it on the E-Donkey network. Darn lawyers.

I hardly ever use E-Donkey, I didn't even know it was running let alone that it was still sharing that file. They have no sense of humor...

IWarez 05-12-2004 05:28

I guess you must have the option on to let everyone see your shares. Turn it off ;)

On the other hand, I didn't know MS was searching the ed2k network for their stuff and sending mails to IP to scare people... And I thought I was safe :p

There are too many versions of the leaksources. And the sizes of them differ much. Such as 1.09G / 203 M ...

I could not get some header files (such as rtmsg.h) from theversions in the ftp site. I got the problem when compiling the format tool. :-( Some modules could be compiled successfully.

Does anyone have a more complete version ?

jonwil 06-17-2004 23:00

As far as I know, the only leaked windows code is the 1 set of Windows 2000 source files (which I assume are the ones on the FTP) and the 1 set of Windows NT4 source files (also on the FTP I think).

The NT4 source files are older but more complete.
Both together contain lots of jucy bits about windows and how it works (as well as source code for lots of utillities/dlls/apps/etc)

All the others are either fake or repackaging of the 2 mentioned above.
