When I updated my winxp to SP2, everything is OK, but after I restarted my computer, I can not log in, It always ask me to activate, anybody have a good way to bypass it? Thanks a lot!

Goto store and buy it :eek:

Start WinXP in save mode and try to uninstall the service pack...
This will probably only work if you have selected to backup
files in the SP setup...

to backup the system fully before a major updates is clever idea, even if you had bought it oficially. just my 0.02�.

Why on earth would you update your Windows XP from Microsoft unless it's legit? if you have a non-legit version you use a non-legit patch. In other words leave "windowsupdate"the fuck alone when using non-legit software from MS$.

Do you want Windows XP SP2? do a small search at this site and dld the fooker.

Personally i hate Windows XP and will never use it at home. Windows 2000 Is soo much better. Just my to cents anyway...

The way of bypassing XP's WPA by patching WINLOGON.EXE is well known.
I don't know if it works on the SP2 WINLOGON;if it doesn't work, try to substitute the new version of WINLOGON with the old one.

windows xp sp2 is still unofficially released, so what you got may be a beta, or some release candidates.

when beta testing softwares (especially service packs), try to do it on a different computer first before applying it to your "main" computer. but that's for the "next time".

at the moment, you may try to use the recovery function in the windows xp installer to bring your system back to the old system files. warning: results are unpredictable.

Ive been locked/my computer fucked before when i updated to sp1. I had to format, but lucky for me i found a download for a slipstreamed sp1 xp pro.
Yeah, if i do decided to move to sp2 i am going to back every little thing up, because even when stuff is legit weird shit can happen :o

hi,

best choice is to image your drive before the update, (Acronis true image rox)
that way when things go south you can restore your original setup

Thank you for your information, but the problem is, I can not log in winxp, It's always pop an activation windows, there are three options:
1. yes, let's activate windows over internet now,
2, yes, I want to telphone a custom service representative to activate windows
3. no, log me off

for option 1, because I still have not configured my internet settings, so I can not access internet.


It seems only options 2 I can used to activate winodws, but a confirmation ID is reqired.

Any good idea?

use one of the keys i gave you, then click update.

So 640 Corp keys come to work again? :)

So you're telling me that by inputting that corp key AFTER the installation and subsiquent lockout by SP2 on your system, windows didn't require activation anymore? Are you sure the built in Grace period simply just hasn't been reset? Are you getting the "** days left for activation" messages or are you "fully activated" now?

Furthermore, are you able to do windows updates now?
