That doesn't mean that the "activation" crack doesn't work, if you have a legitimate key to do the install.

Has anyone tried using a key from a PC/Laptop in a store that uses one of the Manufacturers BIOS's in the archive. I would think MS would blacklist the keys used in this archive soon but if you could use any OEM style key with this crack it would make it much more robust.

Yes, yesterday I have installed ALL UPDATES and work perfectly, now I have activated and updated Vista. No problem. We can have automatic updates enabled but must have automatic installation of it disabled. Until this day there's not a solution from M$ for this crack.
That I do is download ALL updates, (not install it) wait for 1 or 2 weeks and search in google for its KBnumber to view if it is the solution from this crack, and if not, install it.
Now it's secure.

Quite nice but this is not the real solution. It's OK for people who don't have a Vista Ready PC that they can emulate the BIOS ACPI table. But for other Vista Ready PC's they just need to install the OEM cert for there manufacturer and input a key.
And thats the real problem: For Vista every OEM activated PC has another license key. Not like in XP where there was only one key.
So once MS realizes through WGA that an OEM key has been leaked they simply revoke it and you need another key to have a full Vista.

So a keygen would be nice but that may never happen...

I think in every step we are more near from right solution. To work against WGA is very hard because is updated continously so M$ can invalid ALL methods time after.
I'm sure that we don't need ALL UPDATES from M$ so we can have an activated Vista long time until they put a service pack that do invalid all the job. Bypass WGA from Vista to get the next internet explorer or Windows Media will be possible. We must stop our "necessity" to get all new software right NOW!, fast, inmediatly, been the first... I have used Vista 4 months with the timer stop crack and without updates and anything wrong was in my SO. And now is activated with all updates. We must be smart and have patience.

i totally agree with taos...

i have both the msdn version as well as the enterprise version downloaded...

but never installed any cause of the fact the there wasnt any activation patch.

just used timer stop patch..... no updates..cause as such,,,every os has bugs..

which has 2 b fixed from time 2 time..and for that,,,ms releases service packs...

so till then keep quiet and have patience.... and today i m using the bios emu.

and its fully activated... turned off automatic update....thats it...
