64-bit OllyDbg v2.01

I don't know if anyone discussed this in the past but here it is a preview. It seems that we can think to move on the X64 O.S. now.

Hehe, you mean moving to X64 O.S. in 5 years :P

This time Oleh is not the only 'serious' player in the game. Hopefully x64_dbg is going to push some big changes around new year. Unfortunately we don't have so much experience as Oleh has (and we don't have sources of OllyDbg x32) so we don't stand a chance when Oleh starts working faster...

Greetings,

Mr. eXoDia

PS Don't get me wrong, I really hope Oleh comes with a stable debugger + plugin interface soon, but when we look at the long roads that Olly 1 and Olly 2 went there are some good alternatives.

ragdog 12-28-2013 14:07

Is right eXoDia

But i think Olly or a x64 debugger is a big project
and a One man project with realife is this a long way.

The best way is a good Opensource project

But Zer0Flag has a debugger project you a other and a 3.er make a other :p

Why make you not one together?

greets,

Let's see this alternative look even better.

Should be interesting to see the X64 ollydbg pan out

Fyyre 02-01-2014 02:00

omg =) finally. so excited!

BoB 02-03-2014 11:08

Hopefully I'll finally have an x64 pc when it comes out :)

flexlm 02-03-2014 14:56

I'm looking for it...

b30wulf 02-06-2014 02:05

February 05,2014 - the progress is steady.
=====================================
Search - 90%
Debugging engine - 70%
Analysis - 15% :(

Slowly, 64-bit version of OllyDbg gets shape. Debugging engine is mostly functional, run trace works well, search is almost ready and dbghelp.dll is more or less integrated. Now I work on analysis. First I thought that this will be easy - ha! Small changes in the command set and different calling conventions force me to rewrite analysis almost from the scratch. So this will take some time.

mr.exodia 02-06-2014 02:12

Darn :D I should work harder on x64_dbg...

Greetings

YuqseLx 02-06-2014 06:57

If you can make a stable and handy debugger with easy plugin integration (script is the most needed) it could be a powerful competitor.
We should have a alternative and may be the best win.
Good luck!

mr.exodia 02-11-2014 07:48

basic scripting support has been added to x64_dbg, hit me up when you need an old ODBGScript command...

plugin support is quite stable, it just requires some GUI APIs and then it's done.

Greetings,

Mr. eXoDia

nice advancement mr.exodia ! :)

n00b 02-15-2014 01:51

Kudos to mr.eXoDia for his work on his x64 Dbg, but to another matter - anyone heard any news about the progress of OllyDbg x64?
I for one, would love to use that one instead of my current choises;
IDA 6.3, and x64Dbg (by mr.eXoDia) - i mean, IDA is teh best of all, but its not exactly very user-friendly in debugger mode - and x64Dbg, well... It lacks the ability to read the values one needs from the registers yet, and aswell as a proper dump-view.

Anyways, no offence to mr.eXoDia - cuz its a great start ;)

mr.exodia 02-15-2014 02:41

@n00b: I don't know about the progress of Olly, I think he'll post updates on his website as soon as he has any.

No offense taken, we are working hard to get the hex dump running and it works, but there are some alignment issues with it. Hopefully this week or next week there will be a testable version.

And what do you need from the registers? Just create an issue over at http://x64dbg.com and it will be done for you :)

Greetings

Hope Oleh can publish OllyDbg before another new CPU architech launch :D we waited for 3 years from day he said he will develope x64 version of OllyDbg :(

You are not obliged to use Oleh tool.
Is his work. He does what it consider.

nimda 03-25-2014 16:25

when we can download it ?

mr.exodia 03-25-2014 21:38

you cannot.

Youtoo 03-26-2014 03:36

Nice idea and I have been expecting x64 since long time ago when ollydb owner mention it in another forum.

Jhonjhon_123 03-30-2014 07:46

wow,

Until today I know this version, I remember when I started to read olly supported by tutorials, and I always ask why not in 64 bits.

I keep waiting for the first pitch, forward!

Excellent work, really a masterpiece!

Greetings.

x64_dbg

Is x64_dbg as full featured as Ollydbg? Can anyone recommend a 64bit debugger for someone who is familiar with Ollydbg?

There are some 64bit debuggers out there, but as far as I know none of them are "like OllyDbg". Anyway, you can check this site and hope for some release at the end of this year or something: http://www.ollydbg.de/odbg64.html. In the meantime you could use IDA. ;-)

EDIT: Check this as well: http://www.reddit.com/r/ReverseEngin...hey_at/c9sqkc5

The debugger have almost no importance.
If you know what you have to do the debugger is just a matter of choice.

That's right. I just assumed @Mpowers04 was looking for a debugger/disassembler for 64-bit executables that includes all the good stuff that OllyDbg has.

mr.exodia 05-09-2014 02:21

@AlexAltea: if you know C++ you can help implementing 'all the good stuff that OllyDbg has' in x64dbg, you'll be more than welcome ;)

Greetings

deepzero 05-09-2014 02:56

@AlexAltea what would that good stuff be anyways?

AlexAltea 05-09-2014 04:13

@deepzero, Plugins, traces, recognizing system calls, and remarking relevant stuff like jumps or loops, useful highlighting templates, not freaking out with Unicode strings aside from petty stuff like being intuitive, good-looking, fast and stable. I had some painful experiences with other debuggers in the past. So far, I feel most comfortable with OllyDbg and IDA.

@mr.exodia: Oh, never heard of your project; but thanks a lot for making an open-source alternative, I will keep an eye on it! So far I have been just an end-user of x86 debuggers/disassemblers, but never participated in the development of any of them (I just worked for few time on a PPC debugger for an emulator), so I'm not sure if I can do something useful. Besides I'm involved in other project. :/

mr.exodia 05-10-2014 05:03

@AlexAltea: take a look at this https://mega.co.nz/#!z4xEGLpL!xEijh1sqgZyKX_e9QhLyVlb_tprJx7OfhWGUXYRa7K8 its a deve build of x64_dbg and it has pretty much anything you need (except for traces and freaking out with chinese characters)

When can we expect OllyDbg x64 release ? It's too long oleh working on ollydbg x64.

mr.exodia 06-29-2014 03:08

@Okada: There has been no news since february, try x64dbg if you really need to debug an x64 target http://x64dbg.com

Greetings

Greetings

The problem with x64_dbg is that it doesn't show Names (in the current Module) like it shows in OllyDbg 32 bit. How can I set BP on a API inside a .dll ?

mr.exodia 06-29-2014 16:38

Check the symbols tab or directly type the api name.

greetings
