Which is the best EXE/PE editor?
Hi,
Which is the best EXE/PE editor for adding sections and modifying it? |
CFF Explorer (in my opinion).
|
yes true, CFF Explorer!:D
|
Note that CFF Explorer is free yet has not been updated in a long time though it hardly needs it given only modest changes to PE so its still a great utility:

+1 for PE-bear, nice tool

Try Hiew. It can edit sections (all fields), can recalc CRC and also you can view and edit sections contents, including import, export, code, etc. The only problem is adding new section, it is less trivial, but possible in hiew also :)

LordPE, but only support 32bit.

I'm comfortable with LordPE
|
Hiew - best asm code editor. LordPE best file structure editor.
|
LordPE is the best for me.
|
CFF Explorer contains enhanced PE32/64 with fields description, utilities, a hex editor, and support NET structures.
|
QuickView, thought it does not support adding sections, yet you can do it manually.
|
+1 / CFF Explorer
or PE explorer |
both
........................ |
010 Editor is also a good choice.

+1 for CFF Explorer
|
I was a big CFF explorer fan, for me there wasn't anything comparable at the time. Most of the time I still default to using but I'm turning around to being a fan of PE Bear. Old habits die hard.
|
+1 for PE-bear and MiTeC Exe Explorer for Delphi/C++Builder PE.
|
PE-bear is a good tool, but the resource editing function is relatively poor. Is there a better 64-bit pe resource editing tool?

PPEE (puppy) is a lightweight tool which supports both PE32 and PE64.

CFF Explorer / PE-bear

+1 for CFF Explorer
