bpmb on xp
 

ds 2.7 ntsymbols are translated and loaded,on xp , it should
show lastbreakfromip when bpmb breakpiont used, but it didn't,
any clue why?. reply greatly appreciated.

I believe that the reason you are having problems is that
bpmb is not available in Win2k and WinXP. It is a breakpoint based upon provisions of the Win98 architecture that are not available when using Win2K or WinXP. I believe that breakpoints on memory range also do not work on Win2k or WinXP for the same reason.

I don't know the exact reason of the behaviour described by britedream (currently, I don't run XP); anyway, it cannot depend on the OS architecture as JMI said. JMI is right about the breakpoint on memory range; but BPMs rely on DRx registers, and so they are platform (IA32) dependent.

VH is correct. I was thinking mostly about the break on memory range, which does not work on Win2k and WinXP and didn't stop to think clearly about the BPM variety. To make amends I will refer you to a very good discussion on this point on the RCE Messageboard at:

(make sure you change the "hxxp" to Http".)

It is a thread which is titled: "Break point on memory not work?["
and discusses anti-softice techniques which may be used to prevent the BPM from working. That breakpoint is also context dependent, so you must make sure you are in the target program context when you set the BPM. This is explained well in that thread.

I was on the RCE Messageboard when you posted your message that it was down. Delete your cookie and copy and past the address I posted into your browser and correct the "hxxp" to "http" and it should work fine. If you previously had a link through "Woodmann.com" that domaine name has been moved from NetSol to a new registration company and is not fully working yet.

The link through "hxxp:\\fraviamb.cjb.net" is also working as I post this. I have it open in a second window in IE.
