I don`t want the program but i only want to find the serial with Ollydbg because this is a nice prog for me to learn(still a newbie) .

I have been busy with it and i think that i whas close but i could find the correct serial.I have set the first breakpoint on getdlgitemtextA so i hope that it whas the correct breakpoint on this program.

I hope that someone can explain in a little tut how you finded the correct serial.So that i know where i whas going wrong.
So far as i see there is no protection in the prog but like i say i think that i whas close.

May be it is not answer what U want, but let me ask: Why to worry about the serial ? For what U need it ? Are U a serial collector ? Or just wanna use the baby without 21 day virus ?

This proggy have a some restrictions - remove it. That's all.

Also (just IMHO) IDA +SI is a best choice.

Goto Windows Tutorials forum here in Exetools and you'll find a tut how to use Ollydebug to find serial numbers and how to go about it

alephz mabye i explained it not correctly i don`t collect the serials but i wanna learn the cracking art so i whas looking for the correct serial off this program but i couldn`t find it i did use ollydbg and i whas close but i think that i missed 1 step so my questions is that if someone succesfull finded the serial for that proggie and did it with olydbg then i realy wanna know how he find it in a little tut so that i can see where i whas going wrong.
So this proggie means nothing to me i only want to learn something ;)



And paul3333 i sure have read that tut and try`t it succesfull with olydbg but i did almost the same steps with this proggie but couldn`t find the right entry thats all.

So if someone manage to catch the serial and want to explain it to me that would be great ;)

I have a brain but i don`t know how to use it with this one ;)

In my opinion, U don't need dig for serial, but just see for
proggy restrictions. If U remove it - the baby will be CRACKED -
wuithout any knowledge about the f*** serial.

On other hand, debugger is very good for close view (like Zoom),
but for whole picture (some common about protection) usualy
disassembler more appropriate, and IDA (from exetools FTP) is
a natural and best choice.

The proggy not packed any way and (I hope) dodn't contain any encrypted stuff.

So, for what try to go through locked door - just break window.

As paul3333 mentioned, only 1 byte get U full hands freedom.

alephz, I have to disagree with you on this.

In every instance I can think of, a keygen is preferable to a crack. So when he wants to learn how to find the serial, why try to stop him?? Also, you learn more from doing a keygen than doing a crack; meaning if you can keygen an app, you can crack it very easily if need be. But keygenning definately provides more knowledge.

Not always. Sometimes I fix some bugs from SW-authors. Really.
Sometimes get serial virtually impossible - what about RSA or smth like ? Sometimes my target only get worked EXE - any way,
so crack is an easiest way. Ex: Any of ZexerSoft proggies (see relative topic) needed only few minutes to be cracked, but I still
learn his protection (not for KG - I don't need it, but for impove
my CC :-)

I think, do it step-by-step is a more right way. Do first step (crack)
and get first result - worked proggy. Well, now known - it's possible ! Good time to do next step.

Satyric0n thanks that you will look at it this weekend and i agree with you that the best way for cracking a prog is to find the right serial mabye it is not the easiest way but you have the best result and not touched the original exe file, and you register the proggie succesfull with the founded serial.But the importent thing is that a proggie will be cracked and i wanna learn every way how to do it.I try many things ,learn what i can and read many tuts.It`s difficult but at the end i hope that i have learn something and can crack it all by my self.
