Delphi DCU File Format

Hi Guys,

I saw a posting on the Releases section of this forum called "Tool to dump Delphi/Kylix units: DCU32INT"

The question was asked on how the DCU file format.

I had this question come up a few months ago and several searches on the interent revealed not much info.

HOWEVER the *full* source code for DEDE is available from

hxxp://dede.zadnik.org/dede/DeDe.3.10b.realy.complete.src.zip
hxxp://dede.zadnik.org/IndexDF.html (for the download page)

There are several files of interest

DCU_IN.pas
Comment = The input module of the DCU32INT utility by Alexei Hmelnov.

DCU32.pas
Comment = The DCU parser module of the DCU32INT utility by Alexei Hmelnov.

DCU_OUT.pas
Comment = The output module of the DCU32INT utility by Alexei Hmelnov.

DCUTbl.pas
Comment = The table of used units module of the DCU32INT utility by Alexei Hmelnov.
It is used to obtain the necessary imported declarations. If the imported unit
was not found, the program will still work, but, for example, will show
the corresponding constant value as a HEX dump.

DeDeDCU.pas
Comment = DEDE Native DCU parser

DeDeDCUDumper.pas
Comment= This unit implements some routines that uses the DCU2INT
engine and returns dumped .DCU files in TStringList. They
are used from both DCU dumper and DCU.2.DSF engine

I hope this helps!

well, the link is half working (the file is 500k and I've only gotten 16k in 2 minutes).

I've heard that the s. code is distributed with dede but there is no source code with it (since dede is a delphi decomp. made with delphi, it can be decomp. that's probably why some sites say that sources are included. :) )

The sources are included. If you do a google search, you will find it in time.
Or check out archive.org and goto dafixer's old site, the ftp still works on the link to download the source code

Try the mirrored link on
hxxp://dede.zadnik.org/IndexDF.html

And yes this is the full source code and not the reveresed EXE code ...

Enjoy!

Borland keeps the main structure changing to avoid the problems it has had with dcu crackers... does any body hear heard of any way to crack the DCUProtect protected dcu's?

I have had some success with some of them but it does make it allot harder to work with.

;) It's only version 3.10b

If you get the latest version of Dede (aka 3.50.04) it comes with a nagscreen telling you that you shouldn't use Dede to decompile Delphi stuff in order to make money with it except if you contact Dafixer in order to get a commercial agreement... which means that the author wants to make money with his software :
So i doubt that we'll ever found sources for versions newer than 3.10 or so.

So here's a little link that might be really usefull since it contains:
Dede 3.50.04 build 1625, Dede.310b.complete.src.zip, full html doc, complete dsf directory, DeIDA package, and at last, Dede SDK v1.1.

Beware the zip file is 7.5MB !!!!

Enjoy : hxxp://www.wasm.ru/tools/13/DeDe.zip
