Hero:

While I recognize you are somewhat desperately searching for something to post about, what you have posted here suggests that you need to read my standard lecture about how one should really approach the subject of reverse code engineering.

The most important skill you can learn is how to "Search." both here and on the net and then you will discover that the answers to a great many questions one might ask are there for the fairly easy finding. You, attempting to find a post that I won't delete or consolidate, have, instead "asked" a question you should have found the answer to for yourself.

For example, you could have used the SEARCH button at the top of these Forums and entered the words "open source exe protector" (without the quotes) and seen what it would have found. You could have, and should have, done that same thing using your favorite search engine. There is a wealth of information out there for the finding, if one is not too lazy to go looking for it or to desirous of making a post, to actually spend some time "Thinking" about a problem that needs solving and trying "first" to solve it themselves.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=open+source+exe+protectors

Had you actually tried to help yourself, you would then be in a position to ask a more meaningful question about the topic and the comparative value of one open source protector vs. others, although you could probably find much information on that subject also, if you actually look.

JMI: did you try to contact Google in order to balance your account? :)

JMI 01-14-2005 06:21

SSSShh!

They give me $0.50 for each person I refer to their site who actually uses their services. :) So far I've made almost $2.00 dollars. :D

 You can find an EXE protector source in C langauge at http://yodap.has.it . it has an forum in http://yodapforum.has.it . Author promised to publish his source in few weeks. But we have not yet seen it. :(
There is also a discussion about it in http://www.secretashell.com/PEiD/viewtopic.php?t=139&sid=7845b4095916990ce6fcf8e925ae8af9

In my idea it is not protector , it is only a nice packer which able to packed Calc.exe,...(MS VC 7.0 mode 2) in WinXpSp2. If I had source, I would make a reliable protector. ( I am not sure :D )

You can use this link as a basic refference to see how cryptors and packers really work. It's simple and useful...
