Shame on Microsoft WMPAUD WAV filez
I've read in a PC magazine that some Windows WAV files were created using some warez apps.
(from Deepz0ne team, I guess) beginning WMPAUD7.WAV 00000000: 52 49 46 46-9C 3C 05 00-57 41 56 45-66 6D 74 20 RIFF?lt; WAVEfmt 00000010: 32 00 00 00-02 00 02 00-22 56 00 00-27 57 00 00 2 "V 'W 00000020: 00 04 04 00-20 00 F4 03-07 00 00 01-00 00 00 02 ? 00000030: 00 FF 00 00-00 00 C0 00-40 00 F0 00-00 00 CC 01 ?@ ? ? 00000040: 30 FF 88 01-18 FF 66 61-63 74 04 00-00 00 47 2A 0? fact G* 00000050: 05 00 64 61-74 61 00 3C-05 00 01 01-28 01 03 01 data < ( 00000060: 3B E9 F8 EC-5F F1 11 F3-66 00 00 00-00 20 11 00 ;_?f ........................ ending WMPAUD7.WAV 00053C30: 00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00 00053C40: 00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00 00053C50: 00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00-00 00 4C 49-53 54 42 00 LISTB 00053C60: 00 00 49 4E-46 4F 49 43-52 44 0B 00-00 00 32 30 INFOICRD 20 00053C70: 30 30 2D 30-34 2D 30 36-00 00 49 45-4E 47 09 00 00-04-06 IENG 00053C80: 00 00 44 65-65 70 7A 30-6E 65 00 00-49 53 46 54 Deepz0ne ISFT 00053C90: 10 00 00 00-53 6F 75 6E-64 20 46 6F-72 67 65 20 Sound Forge 00053CA0: 34 2E 35 00- - - 4.5 9 When i realized that it was true I thought that this kind of hidden watermarking could be a quite effective way of proving the use of warez apps. I remember a commercial old Philosophy texts CD-Rom with lots of DOCs made with a warez Office version. What a shame!! Anybody knows any other shamefull affaire? |
Hello,
Yes it is true...actually Micro$oft did not created these files...they hired 3rd party company/person who created these them with illegal version of software. here is link for more info if somebody is interested for more: hxxp: // www DOT pcwelt.de/know-how/sicherheit/104830/index1.html regards asmith |
Microsoft becomes more and more sympathic to me...
They use warez and sell the software they code for money - just like me :D I think using open-source crap would have been a bigger image-damage to Microsoft! |
Open %WINDOWS%\Help\Tours\WindowsMediaPlayer\Audio\Wav
open any file with any text editor. take a look at the last line: LISTB INFOICRD 2000-04-06 IENG Deepz0ne ISFT Sound Forge 4.5 :D |
