I am trying to localize FlashGet in my native language which happens to be in unicode. To localize Flashget in your language you need to edit the default language file ****eng.ini. This ini file shoul contain instruction and section names in english and keyvallues in your language .
This is where i am having problem . I did manage to edit the ini file in dual language but the problem is FlashGet displays ???? instead of language chars.
I tried openning it in textpad it generates error message"as the font information is not found in Latin-1252 default system font is used .
Can somebody please tell me what needs to be done

Yes i did . I saved it as both Unicode and UTF-8 but still no go. I think its something to do with code page setting.

What codepage are you trying to use. Its possible that FlashGet doesnt support your code page. I know that Cyrilic script can make many problems. You might need to check setting in Control Panel in Regional Settings. You should make your codepage available there...

exactly thats what i need to do that. Whats happening is application is trying to get the char information in the default codepage that happento be 1252(latin1) and when dont find any displays the char using default system symbol.
So the question is how do i change the default codepage .
No there aint any provision in regional setting to change the codepage.

Regional Settings -> Advanced. There you have "Language for non-unicode programs". Thatd be default codepage i think. Also maybe you should check some codepages in listbox below. Anyhow, i know i once tried to make cyrilic letters in Delphi program but i made it only with TLabel :/

that seems the way to do it. If the application is non-unicode it would need support for char display in default non-unicode support language. Would sure do that

be wary thought when changing regional settings-> language for no-unicode programs because if you don't use an english version of windows you may end up with problems.

I did that with the french version of windows and setted it to japanese as default and i had suddenly problems with the start menu (normally there is an accent in the name in french and some application couldn't therefor put there icons there anymore)
This is a relatively minor problem but if there is this problem it means that there will probably be others.
