Do we actually need to unistalled ?
 

Hi I am wondering if a new version of a software is available, do we need to uninstalled the old version before installing the new version. If the new version is installed and some problem occured can we reinstalled back the old version ( if the software of the old version is not available) how to save the old version file before installing the new one for it to reinstall back. Thanks.

This is thing that depends on program. Sometimes you dont need to uninstall old version, sometimes you do. Also if you want to keep old program before instaling new one it depends on program. Some program you only need to save program dir. On other programs you need to copy program dir and backup registry values of that program. Another program maybe copies its files to windows directory when you instal it, so you will need to find those files too. Can you be more specific? Maybe then someone could give more help
