DirectX 9.0c
 

Hi I am having problem in installing the version Directx 9.0c redist. I have in my computer version 9.0a. After downloading the directx 9.0c redist.and installed I could not find that it is being installed in I "RUN" dxdiag, it still show the old version. Is there a way to installed it. What have I done wrong and how to correct it. Thanks.

And there are absolutely no errors anywhere, such as in the eventlog etc?

More information is needed, such as O/S etc.

Thanks Silver in the event log I see the following. In the "application" tab, Source >MsiInstaller, Category >none, "Event" tab >1107 and "User" tab >n/a, and latest time log is source=usernv, cat= none, event=1517 and user=system. In "System" tab source = unlocker4, category =none, event=54 and user=n/a. Well I am not sure of what it mean by that as I am not technical to it and I hope it give some clue to it. My OS is windows xp pro 1G.Hz. P3. 524 RAM. I do not know what other things to state for you please ask if required. Thanks and hoping to hear from you.

Try downloading the redist from here and installing:

I don't know whether it'll help you or not, sinchee, but try the hint below:
Before installing dx9c change CSDVersion value in registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
from "CSDVersion"=dword:00000200
to "CSDVersion"=dword:00000100
And then install dx9c.

Have downloaded as mentioned,after installing it,I run dxdiag. result given is DIRECTX 9.0A and in NOTE: the line read 'the file qasf.dll is an old version which can cause problems you should reinstall directx to get the latest version', after that I tried to install the software but it give the same message that say it required the directx latest version. Any further help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply I wish to have more info regarding what you mentioned. As I said I am just medium in tech what I wish to know do I have to save or backup what I am going to change,how to do it. In the registry I find it stated as > name:CSDversion, type: reg dword, data:00000200 (512) (in yours it did not show the number 512) and your suggestion is to change it to 00000100. Can you please tell me how to change I right the csdversion and have this choice > modify,modify binary data,delete and rename which one to select to change it. Well untill to hear from you thanks.

Thanks downloaded and installed but in dxdiag it still show version 9.0a. Any help further will be much appreciate.

Hi Android I am happy to say that this file which you have mentioned have work and dirextx 9.0c is being installed. The funny part is some file downloaded could not work although it is downloaded fro MS. site in fact I have downloaded one of the same. Thanks and hope someone will note it for future used.
