problem with the forum???
 

bros...

for the past 20 days i m not able 2 open exetools forum... i only get 404 error

so i thought that the site may b down, but yesterday i got a mail sayin

that i have a new private message then i came 2 know,,,that the site might b

working.... when i checked, i found that i m not able 2 open the site

with

y is that so, is it the prob with the site or with my pc.

help needed urgent..

This may be the result of the recent, and perhaps ongoing, DDOS attack.

However, you should NOT be using "www.exetools.com". That is the link to Aaron's original HOMEPAGE with the old tools on it. Your URL should be:

hxxp://www.exetools.com/forum/index.php

or

hxxp://forum.exetools.com/

Usually, to access a vbulletin forum, one needs the "/forum/index.php" on the end, or at least "/forum/ unless a referrer is set for some other combination.

ya jmi, i ment 2 say the same,,,,

i tried all the stuff,,,, wot u suggested,,,, out of 15 times 1 time the site opens

with wxw.exetools.com/forum/index.php rest i get 404.

but now i found that i can open the site as many times with directly inserting

the ip addresss of the site,,, instead of writing exetools.

at present 2 send this message i m using the ip 2 open the site,,, else

the site wont open

I have the same problem as TDW. I can't access the forum with wxw.exetools.com/forum but i CAN access the forum with exetools.com/forum (without www)

The same problem with me.
I use nslookup in cmd window.
It shows that I cannot find the ip correspond to www.exetools.com.
While with exetools.com,the IP is 222.92.105.26.
For ftp.exetools.com,IP is 211.141.237.27.

nslookup www.exetools.com for me shows me the correct ip address. Looks like that to stop the DDOS attack some filters are placed on www.exetools.com and not on exetools.com?? maybee JMI can check of my home ip has been blocked?

It may be a DNS issue. I had similar problems a while back.

now its opening perfectly...

no probs 4 the past 2 days...
