As several already suggested that if someone really wants to crack your software then they eventually will. However I don't agree that you should not put any effort on putting atleast some sort of protections in place. If you give people choice then they won't pay for your software (unless you are talking about software that cost .99c). So you should make it as difficulat as possible to break your protection scheme.

I've used XEHO stuff in the past. I'm sure there are plenty of better ones out there. These days I use home grown protection methods however.
