Sorry for late reply, yes it should be able to record from microphone,
any webcam or video camera come along with a microphone;
you connect the microphone to your sound card's in
Mic In Jack (Pink) and on Audio tab select the sound card device where you connected the mic, hopefully it should see your device.
I was able to capture only with Free2X Webcam Recorder

but it was a very old analog camera connected on USB, and I also had some problems with USB - USB connection problems; and also an old PC running Windows XP SP3.
I realize that there was no USB deconnections problems when I record without sound. Don't know why!
