Hacking is unethical. NO way around that. Compromising a system is as unethical as compromising a system and taking data.

Take this, you break into a house and watch someone elses cable tv. You break into someones house and steal a loaf of bread. Is the former ethical because no damage was done?

Bombs have legitimate uses. It'd depend on the ethics of the person who found the bomb.

The US sells bombs all the time, do they take responsibility when one falls into the hands of a terrorist?
