I can speculate what you were thinking souz when you first saw this, the possibility that you could dig out the complete HASP-HL firmware and perhaps compromise it in some way.
However, as I understand it, HASP-HL is simply on-chip AES, all the secrecy being in the key which I'm very much doubting the firmware exposes any means to read out. Unlikely Aladdin have been this stupid a 2nd time.
Still, might be interesting to reverse it anyway.
