Thumbs up

In the past I have used the Microsoft Application Verifier tool for this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=c4a25ab9-649d-4a1b-b4a7-c9d8b095df18&displaylang=en

To make Windows report a fake version do the following:
1. Start the Application Verifier
2. Click on File->Add Application, and find the application you want to report the fake Window version to
3. In the right window deselect anything that's preselected, now expand Compatibility, check HighVersionLie
4. Left click HighVersionLie and select Properties, here you can enter the fake Windows version you want the application to get
5. Click on the Save button and start the target application.

Windows will now report fake Windows version to that application. Good luck!
