Q. about "intel c++ compoler 8.0.46

hi,

on the ftp server, there is "Intel CPP Compiler v8.0.046 Windows_Uploaded_By_pmliming" dated 02-22-2004.
while on intel site the latest version is 8.0.040.

how is this possible?

And WHERE do you think Intel gets theres from? Intel probably just couldn't get on the FTP to download it yet...

OK, seriously, either someone put it up who's on a beta program, or an Intel employee, or it's simply a typo. Personally, I always like to be a versoin behind or so, bleeding edge is a bit too messy for me.

There seems to be a collection of 8.0.046 on the ftp (I counted 3) and if Aaron realizes it maybe he can reclaim the wasted space.

I'am unsure why Intel removed that release from their ftp but it was there a month or so ago. The icl banner is "Intel(R) C++ Compiler for 32-bit applications, Version 8.0 Build 20040211Z". Is production, not beta.
