Is it possible to make my own flirt signatures for IDA?

A question like this reveals that you didn't even read IDA Pro's homepage... hxxp://www.datarescue.com/idabase/flirt.htm

You'll find by yourself the answer.

A whole lot of what's been posted since registration was re-opened shows a nearly complete lack of effort to help oneself gather a set of basic skills in reverse engineering by searching the net for information and then actually studying it. There's been a whole lot of deleting going on around here. A great many posts seem to have no purpose other that as "post count spam."

And BlackKnight, I deleted your response a moment ago because Polaris was not suggestion you use the link to find out what "flirt" is, but so you would READ THE FRIGGEN MANUAL and be able to answer your own question.

BlankKnight followed up this post with another, complaining that:

"I can't read manual, because I havent it
I never bought IDA as well as many people here
because it too expensive for me..."

Once again, this just shows COMPLETE LACK OF EFFORT at studying the tools you have. IDA comes with a "HELP" file, which, in the later version IS the friggen manual. There is also information available online at datarescue on these topics, as ANYONE who has taken the trouble to go look would have discovered. For example, these:

http://www.datarescue.com/idabase/

http://www.datarescue.com/idadoc/index.htm

http://www.datarescue.com/idabase/idasupport.htm

"Internal resources

Remote Debugging Tutorial (new 21/03/2004)
ARM Processor Module Tutorial (restricted to IDA Pro Advanced customers)
IDA Pro Debugger Tracing Tutorial
Graphing Tutorial
80x86 Windows PE Debugger Tutorial
Fully customizable work environment.
High level constructs such as unions, structures, variable sized structures Tutorial
Low level constructs such as bitfields.
IDC Tutorial shows you how to write and use a simple IDC Program, BitFields Tutorial, Unions Tutorial, Enum tutorial.
Support Bulletin Board: where our users help each other. We usually respond within 24 hours to all questions posted on the board.
On-Line Documentation: the html version of the windows help file.
How to get your free upgrade, additional tools and user contributions
search this web site with htdig (21/03/2004) "

Each underlined item is a link to new information.

Now BlackKnight, stop winning about what you don't know and actually read what you have and what is easily available to you.

Regards,

I don't want to retrieve myself recovered of s*it,
after this post (I know that I'm running risk of being deleted
from this beautiful place). I know also that this isn't the right
place were to post my opinion on this disputed issue,
but now after 10 (more or less) days after joining this wonderful
board, I can understand why my first posts were deleted, and now
I agree on the decision of our moderators. It's very
difficult to mantain the quality of the board at so high level as this one,
and (I'm afraid but) I think some threads as this one are ridiculous.
Yesterday I gained the possibility of listing the ftp, yes is a wonderful
place, but probably with some peer to peer program or searching around the
web you can find all the programs listed. The most important things are our
messages as they permit each other to communicate and to solve effectively
our problems.
Let's try hard to mantain the quality at high level.
I DON'T WANT TO GAIN A POST COUNT WITH THIS POST, FEEL FREE
TO DELETE IT, I ONLY WANTED TO SAY TO ALL WHAT I THINK, AND I'M
DOING IT AT MY OWN RISK.

Cheers,
Z.

Nah. I'll let you keep it, this one time.

And I've never deleted anyone for disagreeing with me. People only get deleted when they clearly, intentionally break the rules, as did those posted in the "New Banned User's Hall of Shame" thread. The only thing that happens, at least the first couple of times, with "post count spam" is it gets deleted and a warning PM might be sent.

If they keep it up after the warning, I usually just send someone to their house to kill them in their sleep. Most of the time, they don't do it again after that.

Regards,
