How WinXP generates Activation Serials?
hello,
I was searching on google how WinXP generates activation number, but the only things come out are keygen and serial, no documentation about how they're generated, anyone can provide me such information? what are the difference between Home and Professional edition in that contest? thanks loman

I am not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I have attached a document describing the algorithm(s) for MS CD-Keys.
I do not know who the author of this document is, but it sure is interesting reading.  Regards, Satyric0n

Pure genius...although there are easier ways...this is certaintly a very "comprehsnive" approach to it.

Oh, I might add that a working keygen for WinXP Pro, WinXP Pro VLK, Win2k3 VLK, and Office XP accompanied the document I posted above. So it's not all just theory -- it has verifiably been put into practice.
