A 96KB Game!!
I found this small game with stunning graphics for such a small size. Download and screenshots here: http://theprodukkt.com/
I checked in Peid and it shows nothing. Loading in Olly it seems that it is packed. Also the game does not run and in Olly gives exception. This is the error log one of my friend posted on another forum. Illegal operation. PNO0001 caused an invalid page fault in module PNO0001.EXE at 0167:00803cde. Registers: EAX=0000000c CS=0167 EIP=00803cde EFLGS=00010212 EBX=00000000 SS=016f ESP=0062fc54 EBP=0062fdd4 ECX=00000000 DS=016f ESI=0155000c FS=6357 EDX=0040003c ES=016f EDI=01594208 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 09 8d 90 e8 10 82 00 52 ff b0 e4 10 82 00 ff Stack dump: 01594074 0155000c 00000000 00000001 00000000 00020000 00020000 00000000 80000001 00000000 00088e50 000008f2 00366181 000000ff 00001fff 000007ff Is it possible to develop a 96KB game with such graphics. *Since this programming I posted so hope the Admin mods have no problem.* Regards, |

if its possible to do a 3d scene in 256 bytes of code (vide tube, d/l from pouet.net), so its possible to do a game in 100kb (unpacked probably much more), its packed with ryg's packer (check other farbrausch prods, all of them are packed with it)

Well, for me it worked (XP SP1), but you can't say it "ran", it was more like crawling (and no, I won't buy a new gfx card
)Anyway, those guys do amazing stuff.. bye |

The problem with creating a game in 96KB (what they do is use equations and dynamically generated code to make up the 3D Scenes and music) is that you're basically restricting it to a very specific and small audience. Not only does it require creap-of-the-crop hardware, but even on such hardware, minor differences in drivers or video card can be a catastrophe for such a game. So yes it's quite possible, but not very practical... this isn't to say that games which come on 2 DVDs (UT 2004) are any better...
