As far as I remember, JMI was just few years older then me, so I'm also interested in what might have been happened.
Just retired, or some other bad news? I liked JMI, so I would be very sad, if he's badly ill or something much worse...

These riddles are easily solved with some basic researches. E4 E5 are some nice hex digits if you want some port input and you know binary is all black and white anyway. Some people prefer to hide in the shadows than to dance in the light. Did you ever notice the mods hunting for him? What happened to +ORC is a more interesting riddle
