IMHO, Ilfak saw his/their future. Ghidra is open source and provides a bunch of decompilers. Binary Ninja is growing in front of our eyes and it is dazzling. Also BN has a community who tries to develop more accurate disassembler/decompiler. On the contrary hexrays is a complete closed box.
I say, Ilfak made a good+right move for himself.

I really wonder what is next; by means of "are they going to reduce the price of IDA Pro"?

Probably a price increase... Also probably going to go "cloud only" for things like the decompiler, to protect IP. Hate this trend of SaaS everything.
