Razor1911 releases their cractro demo on 40yrs anniversary

Razor1911 releases their cractro demo on 40yrs anniversary

Quote:
GROUP NOTES

40 strong years. No other group on the PC ISO scene today even comes close to

such a long and uninterrupted activity, especially while keeping a continuous

succession of active members. No reboots, no new crews taking up an old name.

Just a sustained flow of dedicated people who pass on the heritage and spirit

of a true release group through the ages. All these individuals, past and

present, those who were caught and those who passed, are the ones to whom we

owe the fact that we are still here.

For a collective like ours, 40 years is nothing.

// Razor 1911 - class of 1985

-+-

Back in 1985, three goofy Norwegian teenagers: Insane TTM, Doctor No and mysel

were tinkering with our Commodore 64s. We had just begun figuring out all the

ins and outs of this amazing machine, but we were absolutely certain of one

thing: we needed to form a group. Why? Honestly, none of us really knew.

But after seeing cracked games with intro screens from cracking groups, we kne

we had to be part of that world.

So we started figuring out how "the scene" worked - although the term hadn't

been invented yet. There was no Internet, so it was a slow and meticulous

process, but the more we learned, the deeper we got involved. After a few

embarrassingly bad group names, we finally landed on Razor 1911 in

October 1985.

From that point on, it's fair to say Razor became our number one priority

for most of the next decade. Luckily many devoted new members shared our

vision and together we poured an absurd amount of time and energy into

making our mark on the scene and releasing the best possible products under

the Razor 1911 name.

Was it rational? Probably not. But it was an incredible time, filled with

countless experiences we still reminisce about today. It's unlikely any of us

founding members will return to "the scene" - there's a time and place for

everything, but we take pride in knowing that after we stepped away, so many

talented people kept the group alive and relevant. Razor 1911 has grown into

something far bigger than the sum of its members, and as founders we're proud

of everything that has been accomplished.

Here's to another 40 years! //Sector 9

40 years for scene group is very impresive. Dedication at its peak!

I have to admit that watching those scenes from cracktro brought a tear to my eye, as well as a smile and some memorable flashbacks

There are so many old school tools and interfaces... great nostalgia impression.

Through this demo, I relived my entire youth with the C64 and the Amiga — the sleepless nights with Action Replay, the first copy party well before "the demo party" the good times with BBSs… incredible!

Well done Razor 1911 and all others groups for these years of fun !
