Hi again everyone. The bit I do not understand is why will it accept any key from a later XPH/SP2 release, is there something here we are missing. Algos & Crypts maybe

Just because it is a full edition doesn't mean somebody else hasn't abused the key and it's subsequently been banned. Phone or email MS, they're actually pretty good at support, believe it or not!.

Hi Git, are you saying that M$ have written in to their SP2 release every key that has been banned
It is not that you cannot activate it, it's that you cant install it without entering ANY later key. I really do mean any key that's what I can't understand. His CD is the original 2001 full release, you would think that it would still install with that key. Just one other thing, if you do it the long way round, install the original then SP2 it will accept the key, so it can't have been banned else it would not accept SP2 Someone else on the board sent a PM with another method of doing it, I am working on that at the moment. From his reputation I believe that it will be OK, any color but RED

Oh I see, I'd misunderstood. That's completely bizarre. You mentioned earlier about creating a SIF - have you tried without your created SIF?
