Your best bet is to install softice. It is the only thing I have had working on XP. For a disassembler, you can use either hiew or IDA Pro. The only way I got softice running on xp is if I installed the entire driver studio:
Code:

Are you looking for a 16bit DOS or a 16bit Windows debugger?

From my past experience I could recommend some tools...

for example - DosBox

DOSBox is emulator software that emulates an IBM PC compatible computer running MS-DOS. It is intended especially for use with old PC games. DOSBox is free software.

DOSBox can be used to run old MS-DOS software, especially games, that would otherwise not work on modern computers.

dosbox has a very powerfull, softice like debugger inside

if you want 16bit debugger, I've some in my can

Thanks to you all, softice is the best for me because I have used it before. In all honesty I forgot about it. A great pity there is not an updated version of TRW that was very good and very quick too!
BTW ahmadmansoor if you see this check your PM

Maybe someone want to play with it. HERE you can download it. Inside archive you will find TRW2000.SYS.old that was in my computer. It was changed with TRW2000.SYS found in this forum HERE. This seems to be full.

hobferret asked this:

Someone in this forum told this:
Quote:
it cant be used under XP TRW2000 was a strictly 9x debugger
Moreover in help file is written this:
Quote:
TRW2000 is an advanced system-level debugger which runs under Windows 9x.
So, this debugger is not good for hobferret.
