I am a relatively old reverser and an old man from South-East Asia.
This is not the only nick I use, although this is the nick I use for casual posts on most of the forums (of course I only have only this one account on Exetools forum). A big greetz fly out to everyone I know out there

Hello,
I was the first to crack blackberry .COD files encryption and reverse it to plain text. (COD to script). Nowadays, coding and reversing a lot. I am here as there are many reversing tools for android. Computer software is now changing to server base and Mobile GUI... |

Hello everyone.
Been around for quite a bit, since 2003 onwards. Found Exetools in 2008 or so, when I was still polishing my ASM skills (x86 at the time). Been a part of several major communities (still am, where they're still alive, that is) and TEAM RESURRECTiON. Golden days, happy days. Loved the world at the time, could say we were the "hippies" of reverse-engineering. Once Themida and VMProtect surfaced, I kinda got demotivated to still pursue software reversing.. but I didn't forget everything I've learned and applied it going further to games (game-hacking). Which is what I've been doing till today, evolving past routinely conditions (you get bored repeating the same thing all over again - insanity, right? - expecting different results). Managed to find some of my old acquaintances through various means of communication, which led to being able to recreate my account. I knew I had it back in the day, but I missed the transition moment, when the forum was reset (must've been in 2010 or so?). Happy to be back again, will contribute with as much as I can/know ![]() Cheerios, Sun |

Hi there, I'm a wannabe reverse guy, I'm a tech agnostic who enjoy to play with various tools on various targets on various OS for various reasons.
Thanks for letting me in, hope to be able to share knowledge sometimes |

Old UNIX dog trying to preserve software
Hello
I'm a not so young developer with mostly experience in the UNIXes world. I'm looking forward to share the knowledge I have, and discuss software preservation with whomever might be interested. By software preservation I mean the countless applications that literally vanished, evaporated from an entire era of computing. In most cases vendors went bankrupt, or were acquired, then acquired again, changed businesses. Even if you wanted a new key for your old Sparc Solaris license server for that critical piece of old obsolete software that is central to your business, no one now has the ability to generate them. For most, getting the actual software itself is already a challenge. In most cases, impossible. Getting licenses, is a crazy proposition and leaves one to fend for himself. And what to do when you do find a way to get that crucial piece of software of vanished vendor X running on your OpenVMS server? Someone somewhere might be interested in having a license too. Computer museums perhaps. Anyway, now that the motivation was presented, you know a bit about me. I'm looking forward to having interesting discussions with you. Best L. |

Hi and nice to meet you; I share your same exact feeling and that's what brought me here: Cisco programs and licenses have precisely this problem, while their old software would be great to teach networking students in schools the fundamentals and Cisco would even benefit from this, because more people hired by companies would be familiar with Cisco products...market logic is so stupid sometimes (often due to blind executives and dumb shareholders, despite great technical people).
Would you be up to having a talk about the kind of licensing I need help about and to help me submit requests here (which I don't seem to be able to in the requests section)? Thank you very much! Quote:

Been a lurker for a long time, maybe I should introduce myself? I don't consider myself a programmer. I enjoy reverse engineering things mostly x86/x64.
I've been reversing games for what feels like a long time now, maybe not as long as some people I've seen on the board but started making trainers in VB6 a long time ago and sort of just continued reversing/documenting game engines without releasing public cheats or trainers. Eventually got interested in different protections, unpacking, or defeating specific technologies and then got into cybersecurity as well which is where my career landed instead of reversing. Was added some time ago when the opportunity arose and happy to be here hopefully will post more often soon but always feel like any contribution, I have is nothing compared to what some people here offer (impostor syndrome I suppose). |
