Which soft the best to unformat HD

Hi mates

A friend of mine format his HD. He format the wrong one !!!
Which software can I use to get the partition back to what it was before.

No new data has been written to the HD only pure format.

I am not a pro in that domain

ps.: I dont want to start a debate just have some idea to what is good to do that

thanks a lot

You can try testdisk but don't think it works for format, only for deleted/corrupted partitions.
If nothing was overwritten, getdataback or any other data recovery software should work just fine to recover the files.

You can try R-Tools R-studio.. But if you used the complete option, you have almost no chance to recover the partition.. With this tool i recovered 3 lost partitions of an 1TB WD.
It takes time, because use the complete scan to every cluster..

My first recommendation is R-Studio.

My second recommendation is DiskGenius which is Chinese only, the English version might be PartitionGuru.

If it were a quick format, you may get lucky but since windows 7,full format option=no hope.

R-Studio and testdisk are good,try them..good luck.

If you are quick, Active@UNFORMAT v.4.0.7 is a giveaway on bitsdujour today 28 January 2016. Haven't had a chance to test it but other tools from that developer have worked for me where similar tools failed.

to gain the best result, you need to try different software, IMHO,

I tried Getdataback product and find it satisfying for me, try it

For recovering all your files R-Studio is the best solution.
I have experienced a blackout (no ups) when I tried to convert partitions (FAT to NTFS) and R-Studio solved this issue. It was the solution for accidentally partition format, too.

You can also check with Ontrack Easy Recovery.

Well slow, slower, Exetools

So let me also know, what helped you.
Best chance is buying a new HD, but I have so much problems to get here, there's no time for jokes, so pardon me.
